The Dorsoduro district

The Dorsoduro district, so named because it recalls the geomorphologic conformation that once characterized this place full of sand dunes, is a cultural jewel in the heart of Venice, known for its rich artistic and architectural scene and dominated by the presence of the Gallerie dell’Accademia, a veritable treasure trove of Venetian artworks from the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
